Rhino Sports Academy
Rhino Sports Academy is an innovative sports company whose vision is to raise the bar in coaching in local schools. We have a team of coaches who specialise across different sports and we want to share our passion and knowledge of these sports with schools. Working with Rhino gives students the chance to experience professional coaching in a fun and engaging environment. They learn leadership skills and develop an understanding of healthy competition, as well as gaining a deeper appreciation of the rules of the game whilst learning and honing new and specific skills.
Mr Sam Mennell – Director
“Rhino Sports Academy is a company that was born out of my love for all forms of sport, a passion for fitness, my personal experiences as a coach for over 12 years and my observations on the way that the new, younger generation is interacting with the world around them. I strongly feel that unless we can instill a hunger for sport and healthy competition in students from a young age, that it may be lost to them forever.”

Mr Morgan Williams – Sports Coach
Passionate and dedicated sports coach with five years of experience working with children in school settings. Skilled in creating engaging, inclusive environments that encourage participation, confidence and teamwork. Committed to supporting each child’s individual development, I take pride in helping young people grow not only in their physical abilities but also in their self-belief and enjoyment of sport. Watching students progress, build skills, develop a lifelong appreciation for activity is the most rewarding part of my work.
Mr Connor Knight – Sports Coach
I have worked with Rhino for four years, spending the majority of my time in the classroom as a Teaching Assistant. During this time, I have gained valuable experience supporting children’s learning, development, and wellbeing. I have always wanted to work with children, so when the opportunity came up at Rhino, I was eager to take the next step in a field I am passionate about.
I have always had a strong interest in sport and physical activity, which led me to study Sports and Exercise Science at college. Outside of work, I regularly play football and golf, and through sport I have developed strong teamwork, communication, and discipline skills that I bring into my work with young people.
Mr Dan Buckland – Sports Coach
I am a dedicated sports coach with three years of experience helping young athletes develop their skills, confidence, and teamwork. Alongside coaching, I teach Physical Education, where I focus on promoting active lifestyles, discipline, and a positive attitude towards fitness. I am passionate about creating engaging sessions that support both physical development and personal growth, encouraging individuals to reach their full potential in sport and beyond.
Mr Kade Stenson – Sports Coach
I joined the Rhino team in 2026, bringing my expertise in both Sport and Performing Arts.
Outside of Rhino, I am a professional dancer and graduate of one of the UK’s leading performing arts institutions, Urdang Academy. Since graduating, I have built an impressive and diverse career across film, television, commercial work, and live performance and hope to inspire children to peruse Sport and Performing Arts as a career too.
Miss Jaime- Leigh Matty – Performing Arts Coach
Training coaches to be TAs in classrooms
Hanslope Primary School and Rhino Sports Academy work in partnership to bring the role model of sports coaches to the classroom. In partnership, we train the Rhino coaches to become teaching assistants in lessons as well as their substantive role of being sports coaches teaching Physical Education. The impact of coaches in the classroom upon pupils has been significant and pupils tell us they are excited and look forward to the days that the coach will be back in helping them with their learning. Coaches at our school can be found supporting individual pupils and groups in core learning in the classroom, but they also take learning beyond – basketball phonics and football maths are very much enjoyed! All the coaches are
well known to the children and this creates a unique relationship where confidence thrives.
As well as being skilled sports coaches, the team have a good standard of education so are able to support progress well.
