Meet the School Council
What is School Council?
A School Council is a group of pupils, within school, who have been elected by their peers (based on a particular set of qualities) to represent them and their views. The School Council also contribute to and help organise whole school charity events such as: Children in Need, Sport’s Relief or Comic Relief.
School Councillors will do the following:
- Help to organise charity events throughout the year.
- Encourage pupils in their class to behave well and respect the school environment.
- Be a good role model to other pupils.
- Attend regular meetings with other School Council members from each class.
- Listen to the views of their class and share these views at meetings.
- Encourage pupils in their class to identify areas of school life they wish to change or improve and come up with positive solutions to identified concerns or problems.
- Encourage their class to vote on actions that need to be taken and share results with other members of School Council.
- Support other members of School Council and make a positive contribution to school life.
