A Brilliant Maths Week at School! We are delighted to share that our recent Maths Week was a huge success, filled with teamwork, creativity and great conversations about learning. It’s been lovely to see children approaching maths with confidence and enthusiasm. A real highlight was Numbers Day on Friday 6th February. Which brought our whole school community together to celebrate that maths. The effort that went into Dress Up for Digits was wonderful to see. From numbers and patterns to clocks, dice and clever maths jokes, the children really got involved and helped create a fun atmosphere across the school. We were also pleased to welcome parents and carers into classrooms earlier in the week. It was lovely to have families in school, working alongside their children on short maths activities and then visiting the hall to look at the resources and methods we use across different year groups and see our whole school progression. Thank you to everyone who was able to join us. Throughout the week, children earned Number Nuggets for taking part in Times Table Rock Stars, tackling problem-solving challenges and showing positive attitudes towards maths. These went into our raffle draw on Numbers Day and added an extra layer of excitement. One of the standout moments was the Number Day Class Challenge, where each class worked together to solve a set of maths problems. Classes were logged into a whole-school Teams call, which meant they could see other classes taking part at the same time. The focus was on discussion and accuracy, and it was brilliant to see children explaining their thinking, listening to each other and celebrating each correct answer as a team. We finished the day with a celebration assembly, prize draws and shared achievements — a great way to round off a week that really highlighted how powerful and enjoyable maths can be. Thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the week such a success.
